I recently received a copy of this book to experience for myself. Prior to reading this, I was not at all familiar with the author, so I wasn't quite certain what to expect, but I actually found myself pretty pleasantly surprised with this one. Right from the start, the author warns readers that this is book that is going to dig deep and really challenge believers to think... and it certainly does just that. The author shares his own spiritual journey, and I really appreciated his openness in doing so... not claiming to be a perfect Christian but really sharing where he'd struggled. Beyond his own journey though, I most appreciated how rich in scripture this book was. I have always said that when reading Christian nonfiction, it is incredibly important to compare it to what's in the Bible, and this one makes that much easier with frequent references to scripture and where to find it. This is something I always very much appreciate in a book such as this one. This is definitely a book that will encourage readers to really think and dive deeper into their own faith. There were so many moments throughout that I found myself nodding in agreement... whereas there were other moments where I found myself having to give things a little more reflection. It was an intriguing read all the same, and one that I think could be of great encouragement to believers both old and new.
