The Book
Stuck in a tree while attempting to rescue the neighbor kids’ stuff definitely wasn’t how I pictured reuniting with Connor Warner, my brother’s ridiculously handsome best friend—and my childhood crush.
Connor is finally moving back to town to help run his family’s company. My brother is thrilled to have him back, and ropes him into helping us with the various lake cottage renovation projects we’ve planned for the fixer-upper house we share.
Free labor is great when you’re on a tight budget, but there’s a big problem.
My school job is off for the summer while my brother is practically working double shifts. So, guess who is at the lake cottage every time Connor comes over?
Me.
Just me.
However, I’m not too proud to refuse his help. Plus, I’ve grown up since the nostalgic childhood summers I spent trailing after him and my brother. Connor’s magnetic smile and his affectionate way of teasing me, which could be misinterpreted as flirting, won’t move my heart. I guarantee it!
But perhaps I’m underestimating Connor’s charm.
Between almost sinking a canoe together and feuding with the beavers who hate my landscaping choices, Connor becomes more to me than my brother’s best friend.
And the way Connor looks at me changes, but I don’t know what it means—or maybe I’m too scared to ponder it. Either way, summer is slipping fast through my fingers, and we don’t have much longer together.
Maybe the only thing more difficult than resisting Connor Warner is the idea of letting him go when summer ends.
A Guide to Summer Romance With Your Brother's Best Friend is a laugh-out-loud, small-town romantic comedy full of swoon-worthy moments, sizzling kisses, and lots of summer vibes. It’s a closed door romance with mild swearing/language.
The Author
Hi, I’m Nikki Bright! In my experience life can be tough, so I write laugh out loud romantic comedies in the hope that they will bring some joy to your day.
My books are closed door (which is also called sweet romance by some readers) but with plenty of the romantic zing you love, and lots of chemistry between the main characters. (That means there’s no spice or steamy times.)
In my stories you’ll find lots of banter, happily ever afters, and loads of quirky side characters who all live in the small, fictitious Wisconsin town of Fox Creek—a city so cute and quaint you’ll wish you could move there!
I’m an indie author, which means I handle everything involving bringing my books to life on my own. Thankfully, I have an amazing assistant who helps me out and runs my social media accounts, answers email, and keeps the website up to date!
Currently I’m hiding in my writing cave hard at work on the next book and focusing on writing more stories about couples you’ll love and laugh with. But I still love connecting with readers through my author newsletter, so if you’d like to hear directly from me (or if you’d like to read extra epilogues for any of my books) please sign up to receive my newsletter!
Book Review
A Guide to Summer Romance with Your Brother's Best Friend is the third book in The Warners series. While those who have read the previous books will enjoy catching up with familiar characters, I do think this could be enjoyed as a standalone as well. This book was such a joy to read- truly, Emma was one of the sunshiniest characters ever. Is it any wonder that the kids in the neighborhood were so drawn to her? Honestly, who could blame Connor for falling for her despite being warned off from her brother/his best friend? These two together were even better- they had a fun chemistry with all the teasing and the flirting- I just loved it. I also love how he falls hard for her- and doesn't hide his intentions. The dynamic between them and Tyler is really fun too, and just what I love to see in a brother's best friend romance. Between the neighborhood kids, both of their families, quirky townspeople and a pesky beaver, there were so many moments in this story that had me laughing out loud. I've enjoyed every book in this series, but this one has definitely been my favorite so far and I can't wait to see what happens next.
A Guide to Summer Romance with Your Brother's Best Friend is a closed-door romance with kisses only. It does have some minor language.
