No Time for Traditions by Kaci Lane: Book Review

*Book received for consideration. All thoughts are my own.

What happens when you meet Mr. Right at exactly the WRONG time?

Brittany Barnes knows Christmas in Alabama won’t be the same this year, not when it’s the first holiday since her grandpa passed.

What she doesn’t expect is her family putting his beloved farmhouse up for sale. Even worse, her dad hires her high school nemesis to survey the house and its surrounding land.

Greg Tucker is shocked when he arrives at the Barnes house and Brittany opens the door. He hasn’t seen her since high school, but she’s even prettier than he remembers. Back then, Greg had secretly wanted to ask her out, but he knew the do-gooder, A-student would’ve turned up her nose at him . . . and unfortunately, her attitude hasn’t changed.

Brittany has a life waiting for her back in New York, after all, and despite a growing attraction, Greg just doesn’t fit into it.
Still, if these former enemies can settle their differences, maybe she can find what's been missing all along. In the end, they could both get the best possible gift . . . just in time for Christmas.

A fun, sassy, and heart-warming series featuring sophisticated women and the men they fall for.

Kaci Lane is an Alabama girl whose mission in life is to write stories that relate to real-life issues with a bit of comic relief. While unsuccessfully trying to learn Spanish for a decade, she has become fluent in Sarcasm, Southern Belle and movie quotes. She is married to a true Southern gentleman and has two young children, all of which help keep her humility in check.

With a background and degree in journalism, Kaci has written almost everything about anything. Well, except for topics that would make any good Southern Baptist’s face turn the color of a Crimson Tide football jersey.

No Time for Traditions
is the thirteenth book in the No Brides Club series. This is a multi-author
series and can be read as standalones. I first discovered Kaci Lane about a year ago through her Bama Boys series, and she has very quickly become a must-read author for me. So, I was pretty excited to read one of her earlier books--- and a holiday one at that!

It's important to know that if you're picking this one up looking for Kaci's typical humorous reads, this one is a little different--- reading more like a sweet Southern romance (think Hallmark-style) than a romantic comedy... but it was still every bit as good! I love a good holiday romance, as well as a good coming home story... and this one was both of these! I was drawn into the story right away and found myself really enjoying and rooting for Greg and Brittany. Of course, rooting for them sometimes came in the form of wanting to grab them and shake some sense into them... the miscommunication was strong at some points! But it made their finally figuring things out all that much sweeter! Either way, it was a cute holiday story and one that I enjoyed very much! At around 200 pages, it's also a very quick read, making it ideal for the busy holiday season (or if you're like me, anytime you want a quick burst of holiday cheer throughout the year!). If you enjoy holiday romances with family tradition, mistletoe kisses and coming home, this is definitely one not to miss!

No Time for Traditions is a sweet, closed-door holiday romance with kisses only, no language and light Christian elements.
