About the Author

Dana R. Lynn is an award winning author of romantic suspense and Amish romance who believes in the power of God to touch people through stories. Although she grew up in Illinois, she met her husband at a wedding in Pennsylvania and told her parents she had met her future husband. Nineteen months later, they were married. Today, they live in rural Pennsylvania and are entering the world of empty nesters. She is a teacher of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing by day and writes stories of romance and danger at night. Author Interview

Welcome, Dana! Thank you for taking the time to answer my questions and giving my readers a chance to get to know you and your new book Hidden Amish Target.  
 
When did you first discover you had a passion for writing? I can’t remember a time when I didn’t love to tell stories. However, I first realized that I wanted to write stories when I was in about 5th grade. I had read the Outsiders by S.E. Hinton and her biography inspired me. 
 
What do you enjoy about writing Amish suspense? I love the thrill of taking ordinary people and placing them in extraordinary circumstances where they can shine and really show how the power of God works in their lives.   
 
This is the 16th book in the Amish Country Justice series— where do you continue to find inspiration for these stories? I find inspiration anywhere. Some of my stories were ideas that sprang from ideas. Some were the result of conversations I had or things I saw. Sometimes I brainstorm with friends. I never know when an idea will pop up.  
 
Can you share a little bit about any research that went into writing this story? Sure! I had to do some research regarding Amish farriers and how they worked. I also continued to add to my research regarding US Marshals. I’ve been writing these stories long enough that I had much of the research already completed.  
 
If you had to describe your main character(s) in this story in just three words each, what would they be? My hero, Zeke, is thoughtful, deliberate and strong. My heroine, Molly is resilient, brave and loyal. 

Can you tell us a little bit more about Hidden Amish Target? Both Zeke and Molly have had their share of suffering. It has made them cautious and both of them believe they will remain single for the rest of their lives. Molly has taken on the burden of caring for her family. The story begins with her witnessing a murder. The killer knows she has seen him and can identify him. Zeke hasn’t seen Molly in years. When he finds her and hears she is running from a killer, he knows he must help her. At first, he believes he can help her by bringing in law enforcement and walking away, but God has other plans. Soon, they are both on the run to keep ahead of the villain. 
 
What was the most challenging part of bringing this story to life? The most rewarding? It is always a challenge to find new ways to develop suspense and surprise the reader with twists. After so many books in the same series, I want each story to stand out in some way. The most rewarding part is when I send it to readers and they tell me they never saw something coming, or when they say they could relate to one of the characters. The readers are truly what make all the struggle worth it. 
 
What do you hope readers will take away from the book? I hope the readers will take away the sense that God is with us, even in our darkest moments. His love will carry us through.
