The Book
He carried the weight of his past.
She carried the fear of her future.
Together, they discover that God's grace is greater than both.
Finley Jacobs has spent her life believing some dreams simply aren't meant for her. Quiet, faithful, and content to remain in the background, she's learned to accept that the life she imagined may never become a reality.
Mason Gellar knows what it means to live with regret. A devoted single father determined to leave his mistakes behind, he's convinced that some people don't deserve second chances, even if they desperately want them.
When an unexpected connection over heavy music brings their worlds together, the walls they've spent years building begin to crumble. But healing requires more than letting someone in. It requires confronting the lies they've believed for far too long and learning to trust the God whose grace is greater than every fear, every failure, and every broken dream.
The Author
Bethany Barnes writes Christian romance for readers who love messy faith journeys, slow-burn romance, and stories filled with hope. Her novels explore redemption, grace, and the truth that God can bring beauty from even our darkest seasons.
A lifelong reader, middle school teacher, and unapologetic fan of heavy music, Bethany loves proving that faith and breakdowns can exist in the same playlist. When she isn't writing, you'll find her reading, attending concerts, or spending time with her pup, Sylvie.
Her debut novel, Fall of Grace, is the first of many stories where heartfelt romance meets authentic faith.
Book Review
Simply put, what a beautiful debut this was! Although heavy music is not personally my cup of tea, it was definitely that aspect of the story that intrigued me anyway. Music has always been a big part of my life and my faith, so music centered stories are quick to grab my attention... and the way that this story talked about worship? I'm not sure that's something that I've seen in other Christian novels, and I loved it. It truly was this music and this experience of faith that brought these two characters together in such a beautiful way... a way that could truly have only been a 'God thing'. The chemistry between Finley and Mason was so sweet. They were instantly drawn to one another in the midst of the crisis that first brought them into each other's world. But both had hurts from their past that they were working on healing from and I loved seeing that throughout their story. And of course, Levi (Mason's son) added so much sweetness and laughter to the story too! I found myself absolutely drawn in by each and every of these characters, even the side characters whose stories I cannot wait to see. If you love romance that truly keeps God at the center, this is a debut not to be missed!
Fall of Grace is a Christian romance with kisses only and no language.
