The Book
He traded hockey for a horse farm. Now the grumpy athlete has finally met his match in the wildflower farmer who refuses to let him take over. An enemies-to-lovers, small-town cowboy romance.
Jaxon Chance built his whole identity on hockey. A career-ending injury just took that away, and it's sent him back to the last place he ever wanted to be—his family's horse farm, now failing under a mountain of debt. The only way to save it is to run the place alongside his three brothers, under the terms of a will that gives them no choice.
What he didn't plan on was Summer Daniels, making him remember exactly what he walked away from.
Summer Daniels built her life on land she doesn't own, for a family that could take it back the second Jaxon Chance decides he wants it. Even though she works for Lucky Chance Ranch, Wildflower Farms is hers—the one thing she's built entirely on her own. She has no interest in reliving the past, and even less interest in the infuriating hockey player who broke her heart on his way out the door after high school.
But somewhere between their first fight and long days working the horses side by side, something shifts. Summer stops bracing for the day he leaves again. And Jaxon stops pretending he wants to go.
The farm is what brought him home. But she might be the reason he finally stays.

I have very much been in the mood for cowboy romances lately, so when I saw that Grace Worthington was writing a cowboy series, I was thrilled. After all, I've loved all of her other books that I've read so far... and thankfully, this one was no exception. If you have read her previous books may recognize Jaxon from the Crushers/ Perfect Crush series. Though you don't need to have read that series to enjoy this one, as a fan, it was fun to see a familiar character and get his story... and what a story it was! While Jaxon has been playing professional hockey until an injury sidelines that career, Summer has been working with his mom to run the Lucky Chance Ranch and build her own flower business. When his mom passes, he finds himself having to return to and run the ranch thanks to a condition of the will. And let's just say, things get off to a rough start between these two upon his return... the banter drew me in right away and I couldn't get enough. I loved seeing the history between these two and found myself rooting for them to get their chance at love... and at saving the ranch. The chemistry was just as great as their banter, and their story truly had such a beautiful feeling of coming home and found family that I adored. This was such a great start to the new series, and I absolutely cannot wait to see what is going to happen at Lucky Chance Ranch next! One Wild Chance is a closed-door romance with kisses only and no language.
