He does things in unpredictable ways each time, so they never know what to expect.

Soon they are in over their heads. Tragedies happen, leaving them confused. Can they handle working with the Finder? Most of all, can they trust him?

LR Strong is a writer, editor, singer, songwriter, photographer, and people watcher. Her life is colored by synesthesia, and she views others through the lens of spiritual gifts. She’s equally creative and cerebral—her first career was computer programming. Her deepest loves are Jesus, family, friends, and her three delightful rescue cats. And eating dark chocolate while reading a riveting book.

I experience life in colorful and unusual ways because I have synesthesia. Do you know what that is? Most people don’t. You can experience living with synesthesia through my main heroine, Tarina. She’s also a strong believer who has spiritual gifts. I pair her up with a hardcore ex-LAPD cop, now criminal detective, who relies solely on his street smarts and physical abilities. These two opposites are thrown together in deadly situations and have to combine their unique strengths to not only survive, but take down criminals and save victims. In the process they help save each other.

Author Interview

Can you tell us a little bit about what readers can expect from your books?
My suspense books are full of action and unexpected plot twists. Even though they are about intense topics, there is nothing graphic in them. Along with nonstop action and suspense, they are about deep relationships with God and others. That’s the heart and motivation of my writing. 

 

Can you share 5 random facts about this book?  

1. My main heroine, Tarina, has synesthesia. I have synesthesia, and most people don’t understand it. But they can discover what it’s like living with it through Tarina’s experiences. 

2. There are some instances of supernatural intervention I wove into the story that are based on my real experiences where God intervened miraculously in impossible situations. 

3. I want everything to be as factual as possible, so I took a few lessons in Brazilian ju-jitsu (which were tough!) just so I could write one scene accurately. 

4. I had no idea where the story would go, and I had to rely on the Holy Spirit to tell me! He came up with all of these unexpected plot twists. So it was an adventure for me to write this book with Him. 

5. My three adorable rescue cats (who I adopted as kittens) make their debut in this story. 

Can you share something interesting or surprising you learned while researching for the book?
I visited the Red Rocks Amphitheater in CO for the first time. It was during winter, so I didn’t get to hear a concert. But I could explore as much as I liked, and I took tons of videos of everything. I couldn’t do that during concert season. The Red Rocks are stunning! There are nothing but scrubby hills for miles and miles, but abruptly these gigantic red stones rise up out of nowhere. It’s surreal and awe-inspiring during the day, so I imagine it’s absolutely incredible at night. I watched videos of many concerts there, and I hope to go hear one in person someday. 

 

What do you hope readers will take away from the book?
I hope they will grow in their spiritual walk with the Lord to the point that they never fear anything. There are so many troubling and tragic things going on in this world, but we can be fully confident in God’s protection and help. My characters go through all kinds of situations and learn to trust in God. I want readers to have that complete confidence in every part of their lives.
