Many thanks to Radiant Mobile for providing a sample of the product for this review. Opinions are 100% my own.
Navigating technology as a parent is... complicated.
We want our older kids and teens to be able to reach us when they're away, but we also know that giving young people unlimited access to content online isn't an ideal option either. So, what if there could be an option that allowed parents more choice?
With Radiant Mobile, you have just that.
So, what exactly is it?
Radiant Mobile is America’s first Christian wireless carrier, built around one idea: parents decide.
Same nationwide 5G. Same unlimited talk, text, and data. With one difference — parental authority over content, enforced at the network.
- RADIANT SHIELD Filtering at the network— controlled by you. Not an app a child can delete.
- RADIANT LIFE A library of faith-centered options. Available. Never forced.
This is such a great concept! As parents, we can set limits for our children but our ability to actually enforce them can be rather limited. We have to rely on apps or algorithms, etc. which aren't always tailored to our personal convictions or preferences. Even as an adult, I can't tell you the number of times I've had content come across my newsfeed that I didn't want to see personally. Children don't have to search out content for it to find them. Radiant Mobile gives that choice back where it should be... to the parents.
How does it work?
- Network-level filtering means that content is filtered by the network before it ever reaches the phone, not by apps that can be easily deleted. This gives parents and individuals the freedom to choose what's on their phone.
- They allow age-based profiles so that parents can determine what is appropriate for each individual child. Having children with a larger age gap, I definitely appreciate this feature.
- Quiet time allows for scheduled network pauses that are once again determined by parents.
- And when necessary, it allows you to turn off the network on demand.
