That Touch of Capitol Reef by Hillary Slaughter: Book Review

**ARC received for consideration. All opinions are my own.

The Book

Some first loves fade with time. Hers just walked back into her life.

The last thing Maggie expects when she joins her sister on a girls’ trip to Capitol Reef National Park is to run into Logan Butler: her first crush and the one that got away. But when he appears in the motel lobby as they’re checking in, her entire trip changes. Suddenly, this isn’t just a getaway. It’s a second chance.

Now, in addition to helping her sister navigate her first vacation post-divorce, Maggie’s reconnecting with the man she never thought she’d see again. When she learns he’s relocating to Utah, everything should fall into place. The only problem: Maggie just got an out-of-state job offer and may not be staying long enough to discover if there’s still a spark between her and Logan.

Between hiking, pie eating, and stargazing with a man whose dimples set her heart racing, Maggie must decide if her career dreams are really in Colorado or if the timing is finally right to give things with Logan a try.

Book Review

I don't know what it is, but there's just something about a teenage crush finally being realized that will have me smiling every single time. And when it started as a camp crush? Well, that's even better. Needless to say, I adored Maggie and Logan right away. They first met at camp, then went to the same college (with the same major), but had lost touch after... until they both end up on trips to Capitol Reef National Park at the same time. That sounds like meant to be to me! It didn't take long for old sparks to fly and I loved seeing these two finally get their chance at love. They had such a sweet and easy chemistry between them. While this was a short read and a rather fast romance, all that history between them kept it from feeling rushed. This was a great start to a new series and one that has me looking forward to what is going to come next.

That Touch of Capitol Reef is a closed-door romance with kisses only and no language.
