The Blobs: Volume 2: Attack of the Glitchies is the second book in The Blobs, a graphic novel series that blends sci-fi adventure, humor, and high-energy action for readers ages 8-12.
If you have a middle grade reader, you probably already know that graphic novels are the big thing right now. My daughter loves them, as do so many of her classmates. And I love seeing kids excited about books of all kinds. But as a mother in the reader space, I also know that it can be hard to find books, even those for young readers, that I can truly feel comfortable handing over to my daughter without wondering about inappropriate content. So Chistian graphic novels from a publisher I trust? I was intrigued when I heard about this series!

I was recently given a copy of both volumes to check out for myself. First, this wasn't quite what I was expecting. When I hear graphic novel, I tend to think of those books that are basically all picture/comic book style storytelling. This was not that. While there are definitely a ton of illustrations throughout, this one is a bit more like Wimpy Kid, in which, yes, there are those illustrations that can certainly add to it, the story really is primarily told in writing. Personally, I think I prefer that, and both of my kids seem to as well. Throw in some alien adventures and a cast of unique characters to love and how could they not enjoy this fun series?
