Easter is quickly approaching and will be here before we know it! What are your Easter traditions?

In my family, we always spend Sunday morning at church, have a nice meal and typically an Easter egg hunt for my daughter. And of course, who can forget the Easter baskets? While we opt not to incorporate the Easter Bunny into our holiday, I do still love putting together a little Easter basket for my kids each year with an assortment of candy and maybe some small outdoor toys for spring too. In addition to those typical gifts, I also like to try to incorporate gifts that keep Christ, the sole reason for Easter, right at the center. This looks a little different every year: a cross necklace, faith-based DVDs, a chocolate cross, etc... but one of my favorites is faith-based books.

Today, I'm excited to share four fantastic Christian children's books from Zonderkidz that will be perfect for Easter baskets this year. Take a look:

  • Jesus, Our True FriendJesus, Our True Friend is a beautiful collection of seven stories from Jesus’ life that share the good news—that our Rescuer has come to mend God’s broken world, bring us back to God, and show us what Love is really like. From Sally Lloyd-Jones and Jago, the creators of the beloved and bestselling The Jesus Storybook Bible, these stories will fill your heart with joy as you come to understand just how deep God’s love is for you.
  • Hey-O! Coloring BookWith over 90 pages of coloring fun and tear-out pages for easy removal and display, the Hey-O! Coloring Book allows kids to unleash their creativity as they bring all their favorite Bible stories to life. Based on the popular YouTube videos and storybook Bible, the Hey-O! Coloring Book will help children build a foundation of faith as they improve their fine motor skills and develop their imagination.
  • The Glorious Image of GodBeing made in God’s image can be a hard concept for children to fully grasp, but The Glorious Image of God explains how, through the story of Jesus, we can learn to see God’s reflection within ourselves and foster a deeper sense of spiritual identity and self-worth.
  • Deep Breath, Little WhisperHelp your child discover the importance of talking to God during all types of situations with this picture book that explores the use of breath prayers. Throughout, kids will learn that each of their direct praises, quick thanks, and whispered requests can bring them peace and build a stronger relationship with their heavenly Father.

I was recently given the chance to check out each of these books. While my children have moved on from picture books, we still love a good one around here for a quick read. Each of these stories is beautifully written with beautiful illustrations to match, each with their own unique style and lesson, but all of them with one thing in common: they all point to Jesus. My daughter's favorite was Deep Breath, Little Whispers... a really sweet book that reminds children the power of prayer. Personally, I loved the beautiful, timeless illustrations of Jesus, Our True Friend which gives a collection of Bible stories that would be great for bedtime. And of course, the coloring book was also a super fun addition, filled with images from various moments in the Bibles for kids to color.
