**Books received for consideration. All opinions are my own.

It's hard to believe that we're already more than halfway through the month of January, and yet, here we are. For many, January is a month of new beginnings, of goal setting, and making changes in your life. As Christians, that often involves goals involve growing in our walks of faith. This is, of course, a great thing and something I think that we should all strive to do... no matter the time of the year. Whether you're reading this in January or stumbling upon it some months later... it's ALWAYS a good time to stand stronger and grow in your relationship with God.

Today, I'm sharing how books from Abide Ministries can help you to do just that.

But first, what is Abide Ministries?

Abide Ministries is not a Bible study. We show you how to hear, be led by, and experience God every day. Abiding in the Vine is a life of walking daily with the living God.

John 10:10 “…I came that they may have life and have it abundantly”

John 15:4 “…Whoever abides in me and I in him, he it is that bears much fruit”

For 20 years, Abide Ministries has aided individuals in overcoming difficulties by guiding them to Christ’s truths. Our books, born from our life experiences and ministry, delve into forgiveness, unity, facing adversity, and discerning God's will. They complement our retreats and online courses.

I was recently given the opportunity to check out a selection of these books to share some thoughts. The books I received were:

Abiding in the Vine: Unity

Abiding in the Vine: Unity takes a deep dive into what it means to truly have a relationship with God and to experience the abundant life He offers. This book will demonstrate what abiding looks like and how to rely upon the Holy Spirit as your guide.

Adversity

Adversity explores the different causes of our life struggles and how to handle each kind of situation we face. God has given us  clear and beautiful remedies for every trial and desires to help us walk through them.

Discerning God’s Will

Discerning God’s Will leads you through what it looks like to pursue God’s will and discover His unique path for you. He has a plan for each of us, and it is specific, knowable, and better than anything we could plan for ourselves.

Life in Forgiveness

Life in Forgiveness examines the freedom and redemption that comes when we learn to forgive, as well as the consequences of letting anger and bitterness fester. This book is a powerful reminder of the importance of living in forgiveness with all people at all times.

The Blessings of Unity

The Blessings of Unity is for anyone struggling to find unity in their marriage. This book offers insight and ideas for creating a marriage centered around walking in the Spirit.

Understanding Life After Death

This book describes the Biblical understanding of Life after Death - It provides a more profound and more complete understanding of what happens when we pass from the physical to the eternal - is quite different than most people (including believers) think of heaven - that we are recognizable in our appearance and soul characteristics - that we progress in life vs. stay static or know everything at once, and that we are very active in eternity. It is most helpful to understand our eternal destiny and provides great comfort for knowing we will be reunited with loved ones who have already passed away or will pass away after we are gone.

This is such a great variety of books and topics! Admittedly, at this time of this post, I have not yet had the time to dig into each and every one of these books, but I am enjoying what I have seen of them so far. First and foremost, each one is packed full of scripture. When looking at Christian nonfiction, I think one of the most important things we can do is compare it to what we read in the Bible... so seeing this abundance od scripture in each book is a definitely plus for me. I also find them to be very understandable and mostly seem to be fairly quick reads as well.
