Cozy by the Fire(man) by Lindsay Rochester: Book Review

**ARC received for consideration. All opinions are my own.

The Book

A woman in need, a man who doesn’t realize all he has to offer, and a... bear in a hot tub? Welcome to Christmas in Starlight Valley.

Cleo

As my brother’s guardian, he’s my top priority. If it’s not helpful to Cameron, I’m not doing it. Dating is off the table for me.

But when we take cookies to the fire station, I’m intrigued by the lieutenant. There’s more than meets the eye when it comes to this surly man. He’s the last distraction I need, and the only one I want.

Ansel

The guys in my squad call me “grumpy grandpa” behind my back. Fine by me.

But the beautiful woman who shows up at the station? I’m surprised at how much I care what she thinks. The problem is, I know I could never be right for her.

Might Cleo and Ansel be exactly what the other needs?

Cozy By the Fire(man), a small town novella, is book 4 of the Letters to Mrs. Claus multi-author series—a kisses-only romantic comedy collection bursting with holiday cheer. Each story is linked through Mrs. Claus’s Operation Mistletoe Match, where she receives a letter from a meddling friend or family member about someone lonely, heartbroken, or closed off to love. With her timeless wisdom, Mrs. Claus pens a tailored message to the subject of the letter, offering an inspiring note that tackles their romantic roadblock. Packed with hilarious mishaps, flustered blushes, and courageous adventures as they chase their happily-ever-after in this no-spice, swoon-worthy series!

The Author

Lindsay lives with her husband, two children and dog in North Carolina, where she enjoys building sandcastles at the beach and seeing waterfalls in the mountains. She graduated with a degree in Civil Engineering, which, long story short, turned out to be something she didn’t enjoy. She now homeschools her children and reads and writes as often as she can.

Book Review

A bear in the hot tub? Well, I can't say that I've ever seen a story open quite like this! It was such a fun start... and only got better from there! Ansel and Cleo were the sweetest together. He is known by 'grumpy grandpa' by the men at his firehouse, but he certainly has a soft spot for Cleo and Cameron (the little brother she became guardian for after their parents' passing). I love a good protective hero, so the way he wanted to be there and protect them both? Oh, I just loved it! Like the other books in this series, it has just the right touch of whimsy and Christmas magic with the letters from Mrs. Claus... and I absolutely love that! It's a super short read (easily read in just a sitting or two), but one that had me smiling from start to finish. This is the first book I've read from this author, but it has me looking forward to more!

Cozy By the Fire(man) is a closed-door romance with kisses only and no language. It is part of the Letters to Mrs. Claus series, a multi-author series of holiday novellas that can also be enjoyed as standalone.
