The Book
I accidentally matched with my high school ex on a dating app. Now he’s fixing my beach house—and wrecking my no-romance rule.
Hazel
At 42, I’m a single mom of four, running a beach boutique and officially done with romance.
So of course my daughter signs me up for a dating app.
And guess who I match with?
Jackson Sanders. My high school ex. The one who broke my heart when he left town for good.
Now he’s back in Twin Waves and offering to help renovate the beach house I just inherited. He needs a project. I need the help.
But what I don’t need is to start falling for him all over again.
Jackson
I left Twin Waves to escape small-town life—and Hazel.
I’ve built a life, made my fortune, but none of it matters. Not like she does.
She’s still gorgeous. Still guarded. And definitely not looking for love.
But I didn’t match with her by accident.
I broke her heart when I left. Now I’m back—and hoping for a second chance.

The Author
Cindy Ray Hale loves to write romcoms set in small towns and has been writing and publishing books since 2012, all the while, laughing at her own funny stories. She is married to the sweetest guy and has a blended family with him, consisting of seven kids.
She loves nerding out on video games, creating book covers, and drinking too much caffeine. When she can find a moment, she loves to sing and play the piano and often includes acting and singing somewhere in her stories.
She was born and raised in the hills of Tennessee in a large crazy family and as an adult, has moved all over the United States. She's finally settled down in a small town in the mountains of western Virginia where she loves to go hiking, boating, and dig in her garden.
Book Review
Fixing Up My Love Life is part of the Midlife Meet Cute series. This is a multi-author novella series featuring couples who are all 40+ years old. They can all be enjoyed in any order, or as standalones. This was a super cute addition to the series-- giving us another second chance romance between Jackson and Hazel. These two dated in high school until he left town, breaking her heart in the process. After her divorce, Hazel isn't looking for love--- but her daughter signs her up for a dating app anyway, and she accidentally gets matched with Jack. Things get awkward when she needs his help to fix up a beach house. This one has some great beach vibes mixed with home improvement with some great personalities thrown into the mix with both of their children. I always enjoy a good second chance and this one was fun and had me smiling throughout. Like the other books in the series, this is a novella and at just over 100 pages, it's a very quick read-- easily read in just a sitting or two, making it an ideal choice for a quick beach read!
Fixing Up My Love Life is a closed-door romance with kisses only and no language.
