 Book Excerpt

First and foremost, A Summer to Treasure is a MG/YA adventure/mystery... so as a 30-something adult, I'm pretty far from the target audience and don't tend to enjoy a lot of books written for those younger readers... but I was actually quite pleasantly surprised with how much I truly enjoyed this story! This story involves three teenagers who are going on a road trip with their parents and grandma, recreating a trip that she had taken as a child herself. Along the way, they learn of some treasures she and her brother had hidden as children and find themselves on a fun adventure as they help her uncover them. I loved the adventurous aspect of the story, of course... and all the mishaps that they found along the way... but more than that, I loved seeing their relationship as siblings grow throughout the story... along with their faith as well. It is a fun summer adventure of growing up and family that I found myself enjoying, but more importantly, one that I can absolutely see my eleven-year-old daughter enjoying just as much too. If you're looking for a faith-based book for your middle grade or teen reader (or something you can enjoy together), this is absolutely one worth checking out.
