I've got to admit, this movie was quite different than what I was expecting. Being an animated film, I had kind of assumed that it was going to appeal more to younger kids... but honestly, this definitely felt more appropriate for older kids and teens. Of course, the fighting and mild violence was expected-- it is the Ninja Turtles after all, but there was also some mild language that definitely earned it that PG rating. This is definitely something to keep in mind for younger audiences or if the language might be an issue. That said, both my 10-year-old and 16-year-old really enjoyed this one! There was lots of action and fun to keep them entertained. I'm not a huge Ninja Turtles fan myself so I really didn't expect to enjoy it in the slightest, but I found that it was a fun watch too. I really enjoyed this animation style... it was very visually appealing!

If you're looking for a fun movie for the older kid/teen on your list, be sure to check this one out.
