A movie for the whole family, BIRTHRIGHT OUTLAW is an old-fashioned Western with a twist of fate—and faith. BIRTHRIGHT OUTLAW stars Sarah Drew (MOMS’ NIGHT OUT, “Grey’s Anatomy”), Lucas Black (LEGACY PEAK, “NCIS: New Orleans”), and Olivia Sanabia (“Just Add Magic”).
I was given the opportunity to check out an advanced screener before its debut. I must admit, I wasn't sure this one was going to be my cup of tea upon my initial introduction. Honestly, I'm just not one for westerns like this. At all. But very quickly the story drew me in. The talented actors helped with that, of course (seriously, the casting of this one was fantastic!)... but honestly, it was also the story too. I was intrigued by this idea--- an outlaw's daughter married to a pastor. The past finally catching up to her. It was wonderfully executed and had me at the edge of my seat wanting to know what would happen next. More than anything though, I really loved the messages of faith weaved into the story. I think this is a message that many of us can benefit from--- that it doesn't matter where we come from or what is in our past, God holds our future, and His plans can be trusted. While I can't say that this has made me a fan of westerns, I can certainly say that I was a fan of THIS western... and would encourage you all to give it a watch even if it's not your usual!
