These days, social media plays such an important role in so many of our lives, doesn't it? In fact, there's a pretty good chance that many of you reading this post are doing so after seeing it on Facebook, Instagram or Twitter... right? 

And there are certainly many positive things that can be said about social media and good things that can come from it! I've met some wonderful friends because of it... as a matter of fact, I even met my husband in the early says of social media (Myspace). Living far from family, it's also been a great way to stay up to date from far away. These are certainly great things. 

On the flip side, however, it can be entirely too easy to live for the likes, the shares and the comments when we should instead be living our lives for God and serving others. The new movie "Divine Influencer" is a beautiful reflection of just that. Take a look:

About the Movie:
When an entitled influencer loses everything, she must humbly trust God to understand what the meaning of true influence is. Desperate, she takes a job at a homeless shelter only so she has a place to lay her head and quickly realizes the joy and purpose that comes from serving others.




Oh my goodness, what a movie this was! 

Right from the start it drew me in! When we meet Olivia, she is most definitely a spoiled social media influencer who doesn't give much thought to others. But when a series of bad decisions leaves her desperate for a place to go, she finds herself working as an RA at a homeless shelter. Throughout the movie, we see her discover that perhaps God has something else in store for her. 

Isn't that a message that we all need sometimes? 

While each of our circumstances look very different, chances are most of us have made plans that didn't work out for us for one reason or another... be it our own mistakes or circumstances beyond our control. This movie offers such a great message on humility, the power of prayer and trusting God to show us the direction for our lives. And it did so in a fun and entertaining way! There were definitely some tougher topics to include homelessness and domestic violence, but it was also blended well with humor and such great faith content. I truly could not help but fall in love with this heartfelt story!
