More Than a Good Friend by Remi Carrington: Book Review

*Book received for consideration. All thoughts are my own.

In high school I made a deal with my best friend. If neither of us were married by 35, we’d marry each other.

We haven’t spoken about it since. So when he proposes at our party, I walk away. I’ve loved him forever, but he is just making good on a deal.

I deserve better than that.

So I get on every dating app I can, and vow to change things. I’ll meet someone new and forget about how much I love my best friend.

That’s my plan.

But it veers a little off course when he gets protective about my dates and goes out of his way to spend time with me.

I’m not sure what to think anymore.

Remi Carrington is the figment of Pamela Humphrey's imagination. She loves romance & chocolate, enjoys disappearing into a delicious book, and considers people-watching a sport. She was born in the pages of the novel Just You and then grew into an alter ego.

She writes sweet romance set in Texas. Her books are part of the Phrey Press imprint.

More Than A Friend is the 5th book in the Cowboys of Stargazer Springs series. This book can definitely be read as a standalone, though you may get some slight spoilers reading them out of order.

After reading the previous book in this series, I was super excited to dive into Dag's story. His character had definitely stuck out to me, and I couldn't wait to see what his and Goldie's story would look like. Let me just say... it absolutely did not disappoint! Dag was such a fun character to read about. To put it simply, he was absolutely, positively clueless about all things love and relationships. He was definitely a ladies' man and dated a lot, but when it came to anything deeper... clueless. And that made him all the more loveable... not to mention led to some great laugh-out-loud moments as well. The chemistry between these two was so sweet and I adored his protectiveness of her. I truly couldn't put it down and didn't want the story to end.

This is a closed-door romance with great chemistry, but nothing beyond kissing and no language.

This is only the second book I have read by Remi Carrington, but I have to say that she is very quickly becoming a favorite for me. I had already purchased the previous books in this series after reading the last one, and now I'm even more excited to read them all... and the books to come! Archer's story is next, and I absolutely cannot wait! If you love a good cowboy RomCom, this book and series is not to be missed!
