Saving the CEO by Liwen Y. Ho: Book Review

*Book received for consideration. All thoughts are my own.

This matchmaker has finally met her match …

To inherit his family business and prevent it from falling into the wrong hands, Devin Kendall must find a wife. The only problem? He’s a workaholic CEO who can’t remember the last time he went on a date. The best solution? Hire his sister’s matchmaker friend to do the job for him. If only they didn’t get along like two dogs after the same bone.

If Scarlett Hayes didn’t have a bet to win, she would never have agreed to take on her handsome but incorrigible new client. Devin might seem like the perfect match on paper, but he needs plenty of help in the one area he lacks—romance. She’s determined to pull out all the stops to coach him, including taking him out on a practice date. If only the emotions he stirs up inside of her didn’t feel so real.

The more time Devin and Scarlett spend with each other, the more they realize they’re not so different after all. When they finally agree to work together toward a common goal, how will they handle the chemistry growing between them?

Saving the CEO is a grumpy/sunshine story full of witty banter, heart-melting kisses, and a surprising ending that will leave you longing for more.

If you're looking for a grumpy/sunshine romance heavy on the Christian content, look no further than Saving the CEO! When the grumpy workaholic Devin finds himself in need of a wife to keep his position, he seeks help from a matchmaker- Scarlett... but of course things get complicated when they start to fall for each other instead! This was such a sweet read. Grumpy/sunshine has been a favorite trope for me lately, so naturally I was drawn into that right away. The chemistry between the two was fun-- their back and forth had me smiling throughout the story and when they finally fell? So sweet!

If you prefer your Christian romances where the Christian content is not as obvious, this one might not be quite what you're looking for. These characters definitely are open in their faith (or lack of) and it plays a huge part in their lives and their decisions. While that might not be everyone's cup of tea, I personally love seeing them turn to God and to pray for each other. It seemed to make sense for who these characters were too.

This was also a very quick read, I was able to read it in just one sitting! Overall, I found this to be an enjoyable read. I look forward to seeing what comes next in the series.
