How to Kiss Your Best Friend by Jenny Proctor: Book Review

**I received a complimentary copy for consideration. All thoughts are my own.

Brody Hawthorne is not in love with his childhood best friend. If he says it out loud often enough, maybe he’ll start to believe it. There’s no chance things will ever work out with Kate, anyway. Most of the time, they aren’t even in the same country.

Is it possible to love someone through their Instagram feed alone? Definitely. Is it fun? Absolutely not.

Kate Fletcher has spent the last decade as a globetrotting travel writer. Roots? Who needs them! When Kate left Silver Creek the first time, she swore she’d never move back home. And yet, here she is.

The only bright side? Her best friend Brody still lives in town, teaching chemistry at the local high school.

Brody and Kate fall right back into their easy friendship, except this time . . . something is different. Did they always touch this much? Were their hugs always so . . . lingering?

The more time they spend together, the more obvious it becomes: more-than-friendship feelings are definitely happening.

But Kate’s never going to stay in Silver Creek permanently, and Brody’s never going to leave. Is it worth risking their friendship when so much could go wrong?

The answer seems easy . . . until they kiss. And suddenly, all bets are off.

How to Kiss Your Best Friend is a full-length sweet romantic comedy, with all the crackling chemistry you want in a closed-door romance and sizzling kisses only.

Jenny Proctor was born in the mountains of Western North Carolina, a place she still considers one of the loveliest on earth. She and her husband currently reside in the Charleston, SC area and stay busy keeping up with six children and a growing assortment of pets. She loves to hike with her family and spend time outdoors, but she also adores lounging around her home, reading great books or watching great movies and, when she’s lucky, eating delicious food she doesn’t have to prepare herself. Jenny's romantic comedy LOVE AT FIRST NOTE was a 2016 Whitney Award Winner in the Contemporary Romance category. To learn more about Jenny, visit her webpage at www.jennyproctor.com.

Jenny Proctor is a new to me author, but after reading How To Kiss Your Best Friend, I immediately went to Amazon and downloaded a few more of her books on Kindle Unlimited. She's definitely one that I am excited to read more from in the future.

I must admit it was the title of this one that drew me in. I was looking for a lighthearted contemporary romance, and this one seemed like it would fit the bill... and it most certainly did that. Yes, there is some drama and conflict that Brody and Kate had to work through, but the romance was absolutely fantastic. I love a good friends to more romance, and this one was done well. I loved their easy friendship and the transition to more was so enjoyable... and oh the chemistry... it just leaped off the pages!! The kisses were passionate and swoon-worthy. (Because I do primarily review Christian novels, I find it important to note that this does not fall into that category. That said, it was still a very clean read. While the kisses might be a little steamy, it does not go any further than that.)

Overall, I found this to be a fun, quick read. I am definitely looking forward to seeing what happens next in this series. If you enjoy a good romantic comedy with swoon-worthy kisses, this is certainly one to check out.
