NYC is an incredible place with plenty of fun and exciting things to do. You could go for a long vacation and still find yourself with places to explore. Nonetheless, New York is still a very hot destination for long weekends for a lot of people, so if you only have a few days to wander these bustling streets in the city that never sleeps, here are some activities that need to be on your itinerary.

See a Show on Broadway

There is something special about going to the theatre, and the atmosphere is always buzzing, but seeing a show in one of the most famous theatre districts in the world ups the ante. So, if you’re going to spend a weekend in NYC, you need to book Broadway tickets to see one of your favorite shows. It’s certainly an experience you will remember and can be the ideal afternoon or evening activity, followed by dinner and drinks.

Go to the Top of the Empire State Building

This iconic building has featured in many movies, TV shows, and works of literature and is synonymous with classic New York City. Yes, it’s a very touristy activity to do, but you are a tourist! Nevertheless, it’s worth doing at least once in your lifetime if you are lucky enough to visit NYC, and the views you will see at the top are breathtaking. Look into getting a New York City Pass for good deals on entry fees for the Empire State building as well as other sites and attractions.

Take a Stroll Through Central Park

You can’t go to New York and not take the opportunity to stroll through Central Park. It is a beautiful spot to explore, and you can spend an hour or so walking around and taking in the scenery. It’s also an activity that you can fit in easily between other sites you want to see in Manhattan, and on a nice day, you could even enjoy a cheap picnic lunch and take a break. You could even hire a rowboat to take out onto the lake!

Brooklyn Flea Market

Cross the East River and head over to Brooklyn to check out the amazing flea market that takes place there on the weekends. Located in the trendy Williamsburg area of Brooklyn, this is a great opportunity to discover all kinds of treasures and trinkets that you won’t find anywhere else. It’s a great way to spend a morning, afternoon, or all day if you love this kind of thing! You can get to Brooklyn from Manhattan via the subway but take this opportunity to walk across the famous Brooklyn Bridge for the chance to take some great photos.

Go Out for a Fancy Dinner

There are a lot of places to sample amazing food in New York that doesn’t come with a big price tag, and these are all worth visiting. However, a trip to NYC is also a great opportunity to treat yourself, so at least for one evening during your stay, book a table at one of the top restaurants in New York so you can dine in style.

NYC has so much to offer that you will struggle to fit everything in a long weekend; however, make sure that you do try to find time for the suggestions above as they are all great ways to experience this vibrant city.
