A Modern Day Fairy Tale

Faith. Family. Fiction. Fun.

Why parents work so hard for their children

Life can be complicated at the best of times, and never has that be more true than trying to juggle work and a young family. You work as hard as possible to find enough hours in the day to hold down a full-time job and find family time, and quite often, it can leave you feeling exhausted and burnt out. Sometimes it is just nice to get home and relax.

The figures

This may come as a surprise, but the average size of a family in America is 3.15 people according to the latest figures from the United States Census Bureau in 2020. This indicates that the majority of households in the US have at least one child, and of these families, both parents were in full-time employment in at least 46 percent of cases. According to the latest figures from 2019, 72.3 percent of women with children under the age of 18 were in the workforce, while in the same time frame, 93.4 percent of men in similar circumstances, This indicates a clear need for childcare, and unfortunately, this is where the cost starts to increase, The average cost of full child care in the US now stands at $16000 per year, which in some states is more than a full year of college tuition. Even as far back as 2015, American parents were spending roughly $233,610 on their children in the 17 years before they went to college. It is little wonder why both parents work so frequently. Quite frankly, in some cases, it is the only way that they would be able to afford the childcare costs.

What about the house?

Having that sanctuary at home to escape from work can down wonders for both your mental health and your family life as you know that it is a work-free zone. Unfortunately, these things don’t come cheap, and with the average house price across America standing at $284,600 as of May 2020, some families need help to secure these properties to give their child the best possible start in life. Couple this with rising child care costs, and it is understandable why both parents quite often have to work in order to make ends meet. Blueprint Homes can help with this as they can help to cut out the middleman and make the whole process a little less arduous and stressful to make your life just that little bit easier.

Conclusion

A stable family life can often be vital for a child’s development as they can learn a routine and gradually be prepared for the outside world. Being able to afford childcare might be difficult sometimes, but parents will always do anything they can to give their child that platform to flourish or work extra hours just to provide a comfortable home for them to return to after a full day at nursery school. It is never really going to be easy, but then again, very little in life is simple anyway.
