Kathy, an established travel writer, tells her manager that she is exhausted from all the traveling and is contemplating doing something new, maybe writing ‘poetry’. Right before her next trip, Kathy gets a call from her estranged younger sister Miriam, who lives in Amish Country, informing her about the death of their father. Kathy comes home to settle their dad’s affairs and her relationship with her sister. Kathy is reminded of her life before she leaves the Amish community, including her old love, Isaac. Will Kathy returns to her traveling lifestyle or will she stays to return to her roots?
Recently, I started seeing preview for an upcoming Hallmark movie called Follow Your Heart, and I couldn't wait to see it. It looked like just the kind of heartwarming tale that makes me love their movies! So I was thrilled to be given the opportunity to view an advanced screening and share my thoughts.
The verdict? It is absolutely, positively FANTASTIC!
In the movie, Kathy returns to her childhood home in Amish Country following the death of her father after living in the English world for many years. Her time as a travel writer had allowed her to travel around the world and see many exciting things... but there's just something about returning home, isn't there? It so often reminds us of who we are...the movie showed a beautiful story of remembering roots and second chances. It was beautifully done and truly one of the most unique Hallmark movies I have watched recently.
Fans of Amish culture and heartwarming stories alike are sure to fall absolutely in love with this must see movie.
