With all the time we've all been spending at home lately, you've probably had the chance to take a good long look at your home. What did you see? Did you find that your home was a peaceful retreat from the craziness in the world... or did it just cause you more stress? Today, we're going to take a look at a few simple ways to help make your home a little more peaceful.

  • Decrease the Clutter

It's rather astounding how quickly a home can gather clutter, isn't it? Add children to the mix and it can very quickly take over your home. Clutter can lead to anxiety, so it is important to keep it under control. Clean out anything not being used, and when possible try to take out as much as you are bringing in.
  • Manage Pet Hair

Pets are an important part of the home for many families, and that can be a great thing. Their hair however can be another big source of stress... at least I know it was for me! Keeping your pet properly groomed can help in that department. Keep tools like The ORIGINAL by SleekEZ® (Small) Grooming Tool on hand to help keep it under control. • Use Indoor Plants

Indoor plants not only look great, but they can be great for you. They can help improve air quality in your home, allowing you to breathe a little easier. Beyond that, they are also good for your mental well being as well. Studies have shown that having indoor plants can help improve concentration and productivity. Choose plants like aloe that have added wellness uses... or easy to grow options like cactus or succulents!
  • Create a Place to Relax and Connect

We often think of the living room or bedroom as the more relaxing places in our homes... but they don't have to be the only ones. Having a space to unwind and connect with the family can make a huge difference in our family dynamics. Food always has a way of connecting people, so this can be a great option to consider. Look into the best counter stools to match your kitchen style to create a space that you can work and chat as a family.
  • Lighten Things Up

For me, I have found that light and color make a world of difference in improving my mood. Dark, dreary spaces just make me feel blah. Meanwhile rooms with plenty of light and lighter, fresh colors really help to boost my mood. If you do prefer darker colors, you might find letting more light in can help as well.
  • Embrace Your Faith

One thing I always try to do in my home is make sure that my faith shines through in how I decorate. For me, that comes in the form of decor featuring favorite Bible verses, as well as crosses and the like. If you have the space, creating a prayer space can be a great way to increase your peace as well. Whatever your faith or spirituality, find a way to incorporate that into your home.
