From the studio that brought you How to Train Your Dragon, this heartwarming and humorous story follows teenage Yi (Bennet) as she encounters a young Yeti on the roof of her apartment building in China, she and her mischievous friends, Jin (Trainor) and Peng (Tsai), name him “Everest” and embark on an epic quest to reunite the magical creature with his family at the highest point on Earth. But the trio of friends will have to stay one-step ahead of Burnish (Izzard), a wealthy man intent on capturing a Yeti, and zoologist Dr. Zara (Paulson) to help Everest get home. 'Tis the season for family movie nights! With the cold weather keeping us inside more and more, there is nothing more that I love than sitting down with my kids to watch a fun family film. We are always looking our for movies that we can ALL enjoy. Today, I am excited to share a new movie release that you will not want to miss: Abominable!
My kids and I love yetis. I honestly don't know what it is about them, but we cannot get enough. We have several books, some games... even our wrapping paper this year features yetis. They're fun, and they're perfect for this time of the year too. Needless to say, when we heard about this movie, we could not wait to check it out. We recently had the chance to do so, and it did not disappoint.
First and foremost I must say that the animation on this film was absolutely beautiful. I loved the design of it and found myself wanting to take it all in. Of course kids don't generally care as much about that and are just looking for a fun story...and it had that covered to. It was cute, it was fun and it took us on a great adventure right from our living room. It is certainly one that we will be watching time and time again. It truly is a perfect winter movie... though you could certainly enjoy it all throughout the year! My kids also really enjoyed the special features on this one too!
