The Most Beautiful Bible: An NIV Artisan Collection Bible Review

I love beautiful things.

Whether it's a pretty dress, a landscape, a piece of art... I enjoy finding the beauty around me. I'm a very visual person in that regard, as I think many of us women are.

I will be honest, when I am looking for a new Bible- particularly a journaling Bible, I find myself looking first and foremost at the exterior styles. Yes, of course, we all know we are not to judge a book by its cover... but given multiple books with the same content, why would we not go for the one that brings us joy and inspiration?

That is just what the new NIV Artisan Collection Bibles provides:

The only NIV Bible with a printed hand-painted cover design and beautiful art hidden in the page edges
Exquisite from the inside out, the NIV Artisan Collection Bible stuns with its printed cover design showcasing hand-painted flair. When the Bible is opened, beautiful art appears on the page edges as you read through Scripture. When you close the Bible, the image vanishes into shimmery foil gilding. As you start reading, let your eyes relax as you take in more of God’s Word with the exclusive Zondervan NIV Comfort Print® typeface, carefully designed with custom fonts to be easy and enjoyable to read. In addition to the attractive typesetting, each page of this Bible has lightly ruled, wide margins, inviting you to journal, reflect, take notes, and create art.

Over the last several years, I have had the chance both to own and to gift MANY great Bibles, journaling and otherwise. Among them, there have been some absolutely gorgeous ones. Sometimes I have even found myself thinking that they could not get any better than they are.

And then this one arrives.

Oh my gracious. Pictures cannot do this Bible justice. It is absolutely stunning! Over the last year, I have become intrigued with the idea of the hand painted Bibles that I'd seen filling up my Instagram feed. I love the uniqueness, of course, but more than that I just love the beauty. What I didn't love was the expense. They could get pretty pricey, understandably with all of the time and work that went into each one. Though I understood the reasoning, it still wasn't an expense I could justify myself. Sure, I could have painted my own... but as I've confessed time and time again, I'm not a natural artist. This stunning Bible gives that gorgeous look that I love at a great price! The cover is of course printed and not painted, but it still offers the same great style that I had fallen in love with.

The beauty doesn't stop at the cover though, there is a beautiful floral design on the page edges that is revealed in its entirety when the Bible lay open. Seriously, gorgeous! And when closed it featured a lovely foil edge that I have always personally been a fan of.

Inside there is plenty of space in the margins to create your own artwork or for journaling and taking notes. I personally adore the Zondervan NIV Comfort Print® typeface found within it's pages. I feel like this unique font only adds to the overall beauty of the Bible as a whole. I also love finding the words of Jesus in red. Having seen MANY journaling Bibles, I can say that this is a feature that we don't see too often, especially in those newer, easier to understand translations. (I have personally seen it primarily with NKJV and KJV myself.) There is so much to love about this Bible, and I cannot wait to start journaling in it myself.

The NIV Artisan Collection Bible is available to purchase now at your favorite Bible retailers.
