How do you worship?

Oftentimes when we hear that word, 'worship', we think of music. To be honest, music IS a great way to worship, but it's just one of many.

By definition, to worship is 'the feeling or expression of reverence and adoration for a deity'. This expression can be shown in a number of ways and can be different for each and every person. Many do find that in music. Some worship best through serving others. And still for many of us, we find that worship through creative means such as journaling.

When I started Bible journaling three years ago, I had no idea the impact it would make on my faith. I already considered myself to be strong in my faith, and truly just thought journaling would be a fun way to express that and give me a little bit of a creative outlet too. It's not that I didn't realize that it would benefit my relationship with God, I just didn't quite realize how much of a difference would be made. And so, I have enjoyed journaling not just for myself, but introducing  it to others as well.

Perhaps one of the most common questions I get asked is:

How do I begin Bible journaling?

Today, I am sharing a fantastic new journal set from Thunder Bay Press that offers the perfect introduction into Bible journaling, 'Scripture Journaling Set':

Express your faith and devotion through creativity with this colorful journaling kit.  The Scripture Journaling Set contains everything you need to celebrate your faith with creativity on a daily basis. The kit includes a 112-page journal and a 48-page project book full of ideas for decorating the journal pages, along with stickers, washi tape, colored pencils, and a felt-tip pen. With all these items at your disposal, expressing your devotion becomes a fun and rewarding activity, and one that can be used for self-reflection throughout your life. Whether you use the journal as a diary, a daily planner, or a creative outlet for your thoughts, the act of putting words and color to paper is one that is sure to inspire.
Those who are already journalers might recognize the author Stephanie Ackerman as creator of Documented Faith, a fantastic online community that focuses on creatively expressing and documenting our faith, and in the included project booklet she shares a variety of tips, tricks and ideas to help each of us do just that. It offers the perfect easy to understand introduction to scripture journaling... but I must admit as a seasoned journaler myself, I still enjoyed reading through and finding more inspiration.

But it's not just the project book. This kit truly has all the basics you need to get started. Scripture stickers, washi tape, colored pencils and a felt tip pen. When I am asked about the basic supplies to start, this is LITERALLY the exact list I give. While you can certainly expand upon your supply list later, this is the perfect way to get started. The set also includes a journal that can be used for practice, for prayer journaling or even in place of a journaling Bible.

Many find the idea of actually journaling IN a Bible to be intimidating, or just something they are not comfortable doing for one reason or another. The great thing about scripture journaling is that there is no right or wrong way to do it, and this set gives us the options to find what works for us.

Looking to get started with scripture journaling? This Scripture Journaling Set is available to purchase now.
