What kind of books do you enjoy reading?

Do you go crazy for a cheesy romance?
Do you sit at the edge of your seat for a thriller?
Do you look to learn from how tos and self helps?
Do you love a little science fiction at the end of the day?

If you've followed long, you know that for me, my go to tends to be non-fiction, but I also love a good mystery! There's just something about the suspense of it that has me wanting more! Today, I'm sharing with you a great book perfect for my fellow mysterey fans- Beneath the Surface:

Leigh Weston thought she’d left a troubled past behind when she moved back home to Carrington, North Carolina. But when dive team investigator Ryan Parker finds a body in the lake near her home, she fears the past hasn’t stayed where it belongs.

This is the first book in the new Dive Team Investigations Series by Lynn H. Blackburn, and I must say it is seeming to be the start of a great one. It has action, it has suspense, it even has a little bit of romance tossed in there... everything that makes a good suspense novel and keeps the reader guessing at each turn of the page.

One thing that I love about this book is that it's a Christian suspense. Now, don't worry, it's not going to be super sappy or like a sermon--- not that there's anything wrong with either of those things--- but you can rest assure that it's quality content and nothing you need to worry about when it comes to language, etc. Like I said, I love a good mystery and I love a good romance too, but I so often find that in the non-Christian counterparts, there often seems to be an abundance of unnecessary language or graphic romance scenes, which is not something I particularly care for... Christian suspense novels like this one offer that same high quality story telling without any of that extra! Still, it does tackle the issue of faith on a very real and certainly relate-able level too.

But onto the book itself. Right from the start, this book grabs your attention- the discovery of the body! Now, if that doesn't draw you in right away, I don't know what will! We are introduced to our two leads- Leigh Weston and Ryan Parker- the subjects of the romantic sides of the story, as well as the entire dive team and Carrington community. I loved learning about each of these characters, and found them really easy to get my attention. The characters seem to be well written, and the dialogues are great throughout.

Now, I don't want to give too much away, but it's packed full of twists and turns that will keep you guessing right through to the end. In fact, you'll discover that there will still be a few unanswered questions on the final pages, drawing you back to book number two, which I cannot wait to experience myself!

Looking for a great suspense to read? Beneath the Surface is a great choice! It is available to purchase now.
