The Gospel of Luke: Now on DVD #TheGospelofLuke #ad #rwm #HolidayGiftGuide2017

This is a sponsored post on behalf of Review Wire Media for Lionsgate. I received information to facilitate my review as well as a promotional item to thank me for my participation.

Earlier this year, I shared with a you a unique filmed called The Gospel of Mark. This film was unlike any other Bible movie I'd seen in the past, as rather than an adaptation with added dialogue, etc... it was a word for word adaptation with every single word taken straight from the bible.

It was such a great way to bring those beloved stories to life while keeping true with God's word. So, I was excited to hear that the newest installment- The Gospel of Luke- is now available on DVD. Take a look:

Following The Gospel of John and The Gospel of Mark comes the third installment in the renowned Gospel film series, The Gospel of Luke, arriving on DVD, Digital HD, and On Demand October 17 from Lionsgate. The third book of The New Testament comes to life for the first time with a truly unique, word-for-word adaptation that uses the gospel narrative as its script. Shot on location in Morocco with consultation from expert theologians and biblical scholars, and produced by the Lumo Project, The Gospel series was given the Dove Faith Friendly Seal for 12+. The Gospel of Luke DVD will be available for the suggested retail price of $14.98.

The Gospel of Luke, more than any other, fits the category of ancient biography. Luke, as “narrator” of events, sees Jesus as the “Savior” of all people, always on the side of the needy and the deprived. Narrated in the NIV by British actor Richard E. Grant and in the KJV by Sir Derek Jacobi, this epic production — featuring specially constructed sets and the authentic countryside of Morocco — has been critically acclaimed by leading religious scholars as a unique and highly authentic telling of the Jesus story.
When I am reading any book, I so often find myself imagining the stories in my head. I get ideas of what the characters look like and how they talk, based upon my understanding of where and when the stories took place. It helps me to get a full picture and understanding of what I'm reading. When reading the Bible, I struggle with this. It is so removed from our past that it's hard to imagine what it must have been like at that time--- how people looked and how they lived. This movie brings those stories to life so that I can gain a better understanding of what it is I'm reading. The words are the same, so I know I'm not just getting the creator's interpretation with creative liberties too... making it truly a great resource. While it should never be a replacement for Bible reading, it IS a great resource to help us bring these stories to life and give us visual learners a far greater understanding.
