If you have been following this blog for long there are probably two things that you know about me:
- My favorite book in the Bible is Esther.
- And I love adult coloring books.
But... what do those two things have to do with one another? Not much, usually... until they're all rolled into one in the Esther: Finding Yourself in Times of Trouble (Drawn In Bible Study):
Color with Friends. Be Drawn In to Scripture.
An unlikely queen. A murderous enemy. A miraculous turnaround. The story of Esther is breathtaking. Through study, coloring, and conversation, discover how to find your voice and grow your faith during times of trouble.
Deepen your friendships as you gather around Scripture for coloring and conversation. Drawn In offers simple four-week Bible studies―perfect for groups or personal devotions. Coloring quiets your heart and mind so you can enter fully into Scripture’s stories. The Bible’s passion and personality come through in The Message, surprising new and old Bible readers alike. Discover the delight of being Drawn In.
Knowing my love of both coloring AND Esther, it comes as no surprise that I was ecstatic to check this study out for myself. I was not disappointed. First and foremost, the illustrations are stunning. They beautifully portray the familiar story of Esther that we know and love, in a stunning new way. But beyond that, the study is magnificent too. One of the reasons that I love Esther so much, is that it's so relate-able. I know, I know... we're not all queens and don't all have the power to save our people. We are however all people who face difficult situations and find ourselves wondering why God has put us in that position. It's a topic that I think really deserves some exploring.
But what sets this study apart from others on the topic that I have seen is not JUST the coloring, but the readability too. This study features The Message. For those unfamiliar with The Message, it is a paraphrasing, modern day translation of the Bible. This isn't a Bible I would recommend to anyone as an ONLY Bible, but when it comes to studying- it's amazing! It puts things in a way that you can truly understand, and shouldn't that be what Bible studies should be all about?
I am still working through this study myself, but already I'm a fan! I look forward to checking out more Drawn In Bible Studies too. Esther: Finding Yourself in Times of Trouble (Drawn In Bible Study) is available to purchase now.
