My son says I have a mind like Dory. Tell me something one minute, and then five minutes later...

Wait...what was I talking about again?

Oh yes, my memory... or lack there of. Sure, I joke about it often. It truly is so bad that it's laughable. Still, it can cause some real issues sometimes too. Let's be honest, a landlord isn't much going to go for the ol' 'I forgot...but it's cool, right?'

No, no they will not. So, with running a blog, a business, raising two kids and managing a household- how do I manage to (somewhat) keep things on track?

  • Lists, lists, lists. Now, some people like their apps that allow you to set reminders and write out lists on your phones, but that doesn't work for me. I need something physical. If it's on a phone or computer, I generally get distracted. So instead I have notebooks and journals and I make myself checklists of everything I need to do. I have lists for my blog, I have lists of what needs done for the kids, I have lists of household bills that need paid, I have lists of what has been purchased from my business and what I need to ship. As I finish, I check things off, and rewrite as needed.
  • Don't Overbook. I must admit, this can be a little bit of a challenge for me at times. And oftentimes, it's not even by choice, but I do try to be mindful about taking on things I cannot handle. When I have more on my plate, I get overwhelmed and forget even more. Choose the things that matter most and those that must be done. For the rest, it's okay to say no.
  • Use a Planner. If I could give just one tip, THIS is it! A planner is a MUST. Use it to write down everything. Birthdays, holidays, important due dates... I would seriously be completely lost without my planner!

And today, I am super excited to announce that my personal favorite planner is now available at Dayspring: the 18 Month Agenda Planner!
I was introduced to these amazing agendas last year when a friend purchased a copy of the Illustrated Faith Agenda for me. It had everything I was looking for. I love a monthly overview so I can see at a glance what's on my schedule. This planner had it. In addition, I also want a planner with a weekly view too with more room to go into details of what I needed done each day. Again, taken care of. I needed room for notes and list. You got it, it's in there. And while not a necessity, I'll be honest, I wanted something visually appealing too. In true Illustrated Faith fashion, it provided just that! Gorgeous designs and a great daily reminder to keep Christ in the center of our days. As I said, it was perfect for what I needed it for, so when I was given the chance to check out this year's July 2017- December 2018- I was thrilled.

And it was even better than the last. Right away I was greeted with scripture from Esther- my favorite Bible book! Inside was even more to love. Month one- glasses. Month two- coffee. Seriously, all of my favorite things all wrapped into one amazing planner. The layout was the same great format I'd already fallen in love with, but the designs were fresh and new and totally me!
