Fresh Squeezed Lemonade {A Tasty Summer Recipe}

I don't know about you, but when I think of summer, I think of LEMONADE!

They just go hand in hand don't they? It's a cool, refreshing drink on those hot, hot summer days. It's the perfect accompaniment to any picnic or summer gathering. And let's not forget those classic summer lemonade stands.

Now, when many of us think of lemonade we think Country Time... or some other powder mix. Those are okay when you're in a pinch I suppose (though I suggest squeezing some lemon in there for greater flavor). Still, nothing can beat a fresh squeezed lemonade on a hot summer day!

And making it is easier than you think! Today, I'm sharing my tried and true fresh squeezed lemonade recipe! Trust me, you'll never go back to powder after you taste it! Enjoy!

Fresh Squeezed Lemonade

Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 Cups Lemon Juice
  • 1-1 1/2 Cups of Sugar
  • 8 Cups of Water
  1. In a saucepan, combine one cup of water and sugar. (I tend to prefer a tarter lemonade, so about 1 1/4 cup works great for me. If you like your lemonade a little sweeter, adjust the sugar accordingly!)
  2. Bring to a boil, stirring until sugar has dissolved. Allow to cool to room temperature.
  3. Cover and put in the refrigerator until chilled. (I usually put it in overnight.)
  4. Juice your lemons, making sure to remove seeds. (For great tasting lemonade in a hurry, premade lemon juice will work, but I much prefer squeezing it myself!)
  5. In a pitcher, stir together the chilled syrup, lemon juice and remaining water.
  6. Serve over ice with lemon slices.
This lemonade is so delicious it will be gone before you know it! It lasts only a day in my house, so you might want to make extra! Want to make it an even better summer treat? Make lemon popsicles, or put some ice and lemonade into the blender for a fun, slushy lemon treat!

  4. I pinned your recipe so I'll have it for this summer's BBQs. We all love lemonade, but I'm tired of those powder mixes, they have no real tartness & flavor. Nothing can beat the real thing! Thanks for sharing!
