Building or battling?

Which would your little one prefer? Do they want toys where they can use their imagination and create one of a kind masterpieces? Or do they prefer active games of hiding and battling, shooting at targets and making tactical moves? I have found that most boys love one or the other... but why not BOTH?

Earlier this fall, I shared with you all about KNEX KForce. These innovative toys allow your child to first experience the fun of building, and then continue the fun as they shoot and battle with their new creation. Unlike other building toys that are put together and put on a shelf never to be touched again, this is one building toy where the fun continues on long after the building is done!

My son loved his blaster, but to be honest, he's more of a fan of bows and cross bows. So, for him the KNEX KForce Dual Cross Building Set was ideal:

Build 6 different blaster and target models in one set, including the double chamber Dual Cross blaster! Fires up to 75 feet! Set includes K'NEX rods and connectors plus special parts to create customized blasters: 2 blaster chambers, 3 skull dart holders, 2 quick fit grips, 2 preload rings and 7 foam darts. In addition to the main Dual Cross blaster, you can download instructions for 5 alternate blasters and buildable targets. Most models can be built one at a time. Compatible with the entire K-FORCE Build and Blast™ line. Ages 8+.

Features:

  • 7 Foam Darts
  • 2 Blaster Chambers
  • 3 Skull Dart Holders
  • 2 Quick Fit Grips
  • 2 Preload Rings
  • Downloadable Instructions for 5 custom Alternate blasters and buildable targets
  • Fires up to 75 feet!
Now, as much as we loved the K-FORCE K-20X Building Set, I must say this one is EVEN better! Not only can my son build an awesome crossbow that he prefers, BUT if he decides later on that perhaps a typical blaster is more up his alley, he can go online and find the instructions to turn his cross bow into something different! And since it's compatible with the other K-FORCE Build and Blast line, we can double up our darts for even more fun.

But it's not JUST the KNEX toys that these darts are compatible with! The darts are also the standard size found in many Nerf toys as well! I don't know about you, but for me that's a huge bonus. For starters, in our home, these darts get lost pretty easily (meanwhile our neighbors are making out like bandits!), so I love that we can trade them out as needed and don't have to worry about buying multiple types and sizes of darts to fit ALL of our toys! Convenient and money saving!

If you have a boy (or girl) on your list who loves building AND battling, this truly is going to be a must have this holiday season! Want to see more from K'NEX and K-FORCE? K'NEX can be found on InstagramFacebookTwitterPinterest and YouTubeK-FORCE can be found on Instagram.

    1. It seems to be a law of the universe that if you give a boy the means to build things, he will figure out how to build a sword, an axe, something that shoots, or if all else fails, just a long thing to whack his little sister with.
