5 Minutes with Jesus: A Book Review

Busy, busy, busy.

Ask any mom how life is going and chances are that will be her answer- busy. We have soccer practices, games, scout meetings, dinner to make, a house to clean, parent/teacher conferences, meeting, appointments, commitments galore. I cannot tell you how many times I wish that there were just more hours in the day. I barely have time to get done the things that must be done... let alone the things I want to do!

As a Christian, I know that spending time with God is of the utmost importance. As I am going about my day, I try to make time with God no matter what I'm doing. As I'm driving in my car, I'm celebrating Christ through the music I listen to. As I do my cleaning, I again can be found worshiping through music or talking to God as I work. I fill my home with decor that reminds me of God's word throughout my day to day activities.

Still, I would so love to have the time to sit down and have some true devotional time. A time to read and reflect on God's word with no other focus. But with every minute packed full, how am I going to fit yet ANOTHER thing in?

If this sounds like you too, 5 Minutes with Jesus may just be the devotional you're looking for:

In this very moment, God offers you the gift of His presence.

Your life is hectic! Juggling family time, work, and church equals jam-packed days. You want to spend time in God’s Word, but the busyness of life keeps getting in the way. What if, however, you could take five minutes to invest in making each day matter?

With her signature honesty, vulnerability, and humor, bestselling author Sheila Walsh helps you find perspective in the midst of your fast-paced life. Every entry features a powerful devotion, a guiding takeaway, and related Scripture that will nourish you, sustain you, and remind you that you are not alone.

These five minutes with Jesus just might become the most peaceful and meaningful moments of your day.

These devotions are short, to the point, but still beautifully written. They truly do allow us to spend time with God no matter how busy we may be. Five minutes may not seem like much, but when we spend those extra minutes reflecting on Jesus, what a difference those 5 minutes can make.

This truly is a must see devotional for every woman who desires to make the time for God each day.
