Summer Reading For God's Princesses of All Ages {A Family Christian Reading Guide} #FCBlogger

**A huge thanks to Family Christian for sponsoring today's post. My love of princesses and reading are all my own.

We all know about the importance of encouraging our little ones to read over the summer to discourage summer drain...but actually getting them to do it? Well, that can present a bit of a struggle! Last month, I shared some tips for encouraging kids to read, but perhaps the most useful tip was finding a topic that interests your child. For my son, this made a world of difference. We filled his bookshelf with books about trains, and suddenly he went from hating books to loving them. What a change! When you find that topic that sparks an interest, your child will love reading more and more!

For me, that topic was princesses. The Little Princess was perhaps one of my favorites as a child, and it is obviously a love that has grown with me as well. And one that I have passed along to my daughter. Already, at not quite two years old, I see her being drawn into all things princess. It seems big girls and little girls alike cannot help but enjoy the tales of a land far, far away.

So today, I'm sharing some great reading choices for princess fans of all ages. From the littlest princesses to those of us who have never outgrown that love. Check out these fun selections that are sure to transport to a world once upon a time.

  4. Omgosh!! The Little Princess was my most favorite movie growing up!! Is that the same one you are talking about?!? If it is that's so funny :) I remember watching it recently and totally freaking when her parents die of the plague in the beginning!! Never thought it was so morbid as a child!

  6. Randi, I'm so happy to find your blog! I, too, loved The Little Princess when I was growing up! I'm the author of God's Princesses Learn to Be Brave, and I'm so honored to be included in your list. If you're interested, I'd love to send a personalized name plate for a little girl in your life that can be included in the book.
