Brother's Promise by Dani Madison: Book Review

**ARC received for consideration. All opinions are my own.

The Book

He’s fighting a battle only God can win; she keeps running to the enemy’s arms.

In a city that never sleeps, former POW and NAVY SEAL Ryker James seems destined to be among the restless. Memories of his past haunt him to the cage he now fights in, driving him to UFC success and fame.
Until his world is shattered at the height of his career and he’s left questioning the God that once brought him through the storm.
Kelsey Renolds believed New York would hold her future. With a promising job and successful boyfriend, she slides through life unnoticed by those around her.
Until she meets a man who opens her eyes to everything she never thought she needed, nor deserved.
As Ryker and Kelsey battle their own demons, facing them together becomes the only option. Their worlds intertwine, as a promise from the past is tested, and hope for their future draws near.

Book Review

What an incredible debut this was! From the moment I started seeing posts about this one, it very quickly worked its way up my TBR, and I am happy to say, it did not disappoint. Ryker and Kelsey... my goodness, these two are really put through it in this one. Honestly, there were some moments that were really hard to read because of the topics at hand (abuse, torture, etc)... and yet, the faith was so strong in the midst of all the hard... not perfect, by any means, but I loved that their story continued to point to Jesus for healing and strength. Kelsey does not have faith at the start of the story, and I loved seeing her questions throughout. I loved Ryker's protectiveness right from the very beginning and the chemistry and tenderness between these two was beautifully done too. In addition to the romance between them, I also loved the friendship that we see between Ryker and Jace- truly a brotherhood forged by fire... and a friendship I hope to see much more of in the series. This story is gritty and hard... but also beautiful and faith-filled, and I absolutely loved it. With a debut like this, I very much look forward to what Dani Madison will do next!

Brother's Promise
is a Christian romantic suspense with kisses only on pages and vaguely implied intimacy and no language. It does included topics that could be triggering for some readers.
