Here We Go Again by Jenny Proctor: Book Review

**ARC received for consideration. All opinions are my own.

The Book

He knows what it takes to make a comeback. She isn’t sure he deserves a second chance.

After a career-threatening injury, Georgia Jaguars defenseman Theo Williamson is fighting to prove he still has a future in hockey. The harder battle? Convincing Becca Bradley he deserves another chance at her heart.

Eight years ago, when his father died, Theo shut Becca out instead of letting her help him through the hardest time of his life.

Becca rebuilt without him. She’s stronger now. More careful. And she definitely isn’t interested in letting him back into her life—no matter how sincere his apology sounds.

But when their meddling mothers trap them on a surprise vacation together, distance isn’t an option—and neither is ignoring the chemistry they never really lost.

Just when Becca starts to think Theo might be worth the risk, real life comes crashing in. Demanding schedules, hard days, and the uncertain shape of what a future together would even look like.

Soon, Theo realizes he isn’t just fighting to win Becca's heart. He’s fighting to believe he deserves to keep it—before the same old doubts convince him to let her go.

Here We Go Again is a second chance, low-spice hockey romance with chemistry, tension, and steamy kisses...but only kisses on the page.

The Author

Jenny Proctor is an award-winning author of more than fourteen romantic comedies and an Amazon bestseller. She began her career in publishing in 2013; her writing has been a constant since then, but she also spent time as the owner and managing editor of Midnight Owl Editors and the chair of the Storymakers Conference. Wired for relationships, Jenny loves public speaking, teaching, and building lasting connections.

Jenny was born in the mountains of Western North Carolina, a place she considers one of the loveliest on earth. She loves to hike with her family and spend time outdoors, but she also adores lounging around her home, reading great books or watching great movies and, when she’s lucky, eating delicious food she doesn’t have to prepare herself.

Book Review

Second chance romance can sometimes get a lot of hate, but it's one of my personal favorites... and stories like Theo and Becca's are exactly why I love them so much. History. Healing. Tension. I love it all. These two were high school sweethearts until the death of his father had him pushing everyone away, including Becca. Now, years have passed and he is injured landing in the hospital where she is working as a travel nurse... and all those old feelings? Well, they might not be so old after all. I loved the chemistry between these two. They definitely had some past hurts to work through, but I loved seeing their growth throughout the story. There was such a beautiful vulnerability between these two that I couldn't help but love... but it also was mixed perfectly with those lighter moments to make me smile including another one of my favorites: meddling mothers. The lengths that their mothers will go to... oh, I love it! If you're looking for a hockey romance with just the right blend of healing and humor, don't miss this one!

Here We Go Again is a closed-door romance with kisses only and minimal minor language. There is some innuendo and mention of previous experiences, but nothing detailed. This is the second book in the Georgia Jaguars Hockey series, and while I think those who have read the previous book will appreciate this one most, I do think it could be enjoyed as a standalone as well.
