Three things I adore: Christmas traditions, bookish books and WWII stories. Needless to say, when I saw this one with all three, I was intrigued. And it absolutely did not disappoint. I don't know that I've read any books set in Iceland, WWII or otherwise, so it was interesting to learn more about it and their holiday traditions, but of course, I was mostly there for the romance... and it was a sweet one. Bookish main characters and a hidden identity drew me in, and I couldn't help but enjoy Anders and Tatiana together. As a novella, this was a quick read, but it didn't feel in any way rushed or incomplete, just the perfect bite-sized WWII romance for the holiday season.
