Throughout my many years as a blogger and book reviewer, I have had the opportunity to check out a LOT of devotionals and am always stunned at the sheer variety of options there are... we have devotions for moms, dads, grandparents, married people, single people, military, nurses... well, you get the idea, the list goes on and on. Knowing this, sometimes one comes along that still take me by surprise... like a devotional inspired by travels across all 50 states. Take a look:

I'll be honest, I'm not much of a traveler. Sure, I have been to many states, but it was mostly just passing through. As such, I wasn't sure how I would enjoy this one... did I need to have those same travel experiences to be able to appreciate it? While those who have traveled to same of the same destinations may appreciate these stories even more, I did find I was able to enjoy this devotional all the same. You really don't have to be familiar with all the locations to be able to appreciate the lessons the authors learned in their own travels... though it might inspire you to want to do some traveling of your own as well. Each devotion focuses on one state, with personal stories from the author which ties into questions to reflect, scripture to read and a prayer prompt. While the devotions themselves are not all super scripture heavy, they do all point back to God through the lessons learned and again do lead to additional scripture as well. While I have not had a chance to read every single devotion, I have enjoyed those that I have. Whether you enjoy traveling yourself or just learning about different places, this is a cute devotional worth checking out.
