The Author

Genny Carrick is a fool for happily ever afters, especially if there's a whole lot of laughter along the way. She writes rom-coms about sassy women, the cinnamon roll men who fall for them, and swoony moments outdoors whenever she possibly can.

After a quick detour in Texas, Genny recently returned to the Pacific Northwest, and lives with her brilliant husband and two hilarious kids.

Book Review

It's no secret that I love a good grumpy/sunshine... and Genny Carrick truly does it so well! Don't Fool Yourself is further proof of that... and I loved it! Reed definitely has some grump vibes, but I couldn't help but adore the soft spot that he had for Rose. I mean, what's better than a grump that's completely gone for her, right from the start? The chemistry between these two is certainly undeniable, of course, but I also really loved how he encouraged and supported her to find her own voice. Throw in some accidental fake dating and an equally grumpy cat and there truly was so much to love in this story. If you love stories with cozy small-town vibes and a flannel wearing MMC, this is one not to be missed... it certainly has me looking forward to what will happen next in the series. 

Don't Fool Yourself is a closed-door romance with implied intimacy, innuendo and minor language.
