The Bennett Sister's Secret by Jaycee Howard: Book Review

**ARC received for consideration. All opinions are my own.

The Book

Jan Bennett has a secret:

She’s fallen for a guy online named Rogue728

Wes Hough has a secret:

He is Rogue728

Not telling my family about the online friendship I’ve fostered with a guy that goes by the name Rogue728 may have been one of the stupidest things I’ve ever done. Especially because things have turned less friendly and more romantic over the last few months. Now, we talk all day everyday and I don’t know what I would do without my anonymous online friend. Except for the fact that I don’t want it to be anonymous anymore… However, that plan is thrown off kilter the second my brother assigns me a new horseback riding student; Weston Hough.

My brother doesn’t know about my past with Wes, or why over the last year I’ve been so easily volatile towards the man that simultaneously makes my heart race with rage and another emotion. An emotion that should have been squashed out long ago, but reignites every time Wes’s playful smirk lands on me.

As my heart starts to be torn in two directions, I realize that I’m not the only one with secrets.

And his secrets might just ruin everything.

The Author

Jaycee Howard is living her very own love story after marrying her childhood best friend and is now a full time mom to their 3 kids and giant breed dog, Odin. She absolutely loves to travel with her family and explore both local and far off places whether it be hiking, shopping, camping, or just passing through a cute small town. When she’s not writing, she’s either reading a good book she’ll probably end up telling you about or obsessing over her newest hobby (she knits, crochets, tats lace, bobbin laces, bakes, wood burns, leather works, as well as many others… along with trying and failing to garden).

Book Review

This book may be called The Bennett Sister's Secret, but Jan is not the only one in this story that's keeping a secret. And Wes's secret? Well, it's definitely a big one... and one that you'll have to read the book to discover for yourself. Trust me, it's worth it! I've enjoyed every book in this series and am always excited for the chance to visit the Bennett family once again, and this one certainly did not disappoint bringing us all the secrets, some You've Got Mail vibes and a bit of a second chance too. Wes and Jan had a really fun dynamic... there's a complicated history there but despite her anger towards him, there's also an undeniable chemistry between them too... I loved them together in their real life just as much as I loved their online interactions as well. Like I said, there were several secrets revealed throughout the course of this story, keeping me intrigued right through to the end. If you love secret identity and enemies to love, this is certainly one to check out.

The Bennett Sister's Secret is a closed-door romance with kisses only and no language. It is the fifth book in The Bennett Family series, but I do believe it could be enjoyed as a standalone as well.
