The Book
Two eras. One future. An impossible choice that will determine the course of history.
As a time-crosser, Ally lives in two worlds. In 1849, in an attempt to secure her family's future during the California Gold Rush, she finds herself penniless and stranded in San Francisco. Forced to take shelter in a dangerous boardinghouse owned by an infamous gang member, Ally is desperate to escape. But when she discovers that history has changed around her, and it now claims she will do something unthinkable, she must use her time-crossing knowledge to find answers.
In 1929, Ally is an up-and-coming starlet during the Golden Age of Hollywood, but her family's film studio is on the brink of ruin, and their remaining resources are invested into a production of Little Women. If the endeavor fails, Ally's family will lose everything. To ensure their success, she agrees to stage a fake romance with a notorious Hollywood heartthrob in hopes of using his fame for their movie, but she risks her heart in the process. When history doesn't play by the rules, Ally must decide if she will throw all caution aside and risk everything for the people she loves. But which path will be worth sacrificing to save the other?

Into a Golden Era is the seventh book in the Timeless series, and yet, each time I finish one of these books, I find myself in complete awe of how beautifully Gabrielle Meyer captures each of the timelines that these characters are living in. For those new to the series, the main characters in this series are all time-crossers, living a very different life in two timelines- when they go to sleep in one timeline, they wake up in the other with no loss of time and will continue to do so until they make their choice on which to stay. While you may be able to enjoy as a standalone, there is some crossover of characters with potential spoilers, and I think those who have read from the beginning will have the best understanding of how time-crossing works. In this book, we meet Ally who is living in 1849 during the California Gold Rush and 1929 as an actress in the Golden Age of Hollywood. Each of these timelines drew me in just the same, and I found myself wondering how it all was going to work out. One of the things that I love about this series is that just when you think you understand the choice that is going to be made, something happens to make you second guess everything. While I can't give anything away, I will say that this was once again true with this one. I loved all the twists that kept me guessing right through to the happily ever after. If you love Christian historical romance and time travel, this is a book and series that you absolutely don't want to miss. I look forward to seeing what's coming next. You can purchase your copy here: https://amzn.to/4bGhsUf
