Fa-La La-La Land by Brittany Larsen: Book Review

**ARC received for consideration. All opinions are my own.

The Book

She’s got a list to finish. He’s got a song to escape. Neither planned on falling in love this Christmas.

Stella Sparks has no time for love—not when her 30 Before 30 list is calling and her new job depends on reviving rockstar Rhys James’s image before he headlines Winter Lights Live.

The trouble? Rhys isn’t interested in playing America’s perfect popstar anymore, especially when his label insists he sing the cheesy Christmas hit he’s grown to hate. And Stella, who once had his poster taped to her teenage bedroom wall, is no longer swooning—she’s determined to keep things professional.

But when a snowstorm strands them in Stella’s hometown, Rhys discovers small-town magic, a chance to write his own story, and the one woman who sees him for who he really is. Too bad falling for him could cost Stella the career she’s fought for.

A witty, cozy holiday romcom with banter, small-town charm, and swoony slow-burn romance—Fa-La La-La Land is perfect for fans of Jenny Proctor, Melissa Ferguson, and Katherine Center’s sweet romances.

The Author

Brittany Larsen is an Idaho girl who's spent the last twenty plus years in California raising daughters, reading just about anything, and writing--not necessarily in that order. Hot yoga is her happy/uncomfortable place. She loves a good romance, whether it's set in modern-day, nineteenth century England, or the Old West, as long as it's got a feisty heroine and makes her laugh and/or sigh.

Book Review

Oh my goodness, this book! Right from their first meeting, I loved Rhys and Stella... okay, so that first meeting was... perhaps not painting them in the best of lights, sure... but even still there was something about these two that drew me in. I felt for Rhys is his struggles to figure out who he was and the musician he wanted to be. I adored Stella and her love of the holidays and belief in the magic of the season. Her list made for some really fun (and swoon worthy) moments throughout, and I couldn't get enough of the amazing chemistry between these two. (Seriously, those pool kisses!? Oh my!) Their story took me on a roller coaster of emotions, laughing one moment and getting teary the next... in the best way possible. And that epilogue? Oh, my heart! So beautiful. This series truly has just gotten better with each and every book, and I'm absolutely here for it all!

Fa-La La-La Land is a closed-door romance with kisses only. It does have some minor language and innuendo. It is the third book in the Love in LA series but could be enjoyed as a standalone as well.
