After five years, Slugs & Bugs are back.
No, no... not the little critters that roam the yard and garden--- the music first started by Randall Goodgame and Andrew Peterson in 2006 with the mission to create music and stories full of faith and silliness for families to delight in and sing for years to come. And now, after five years, they are releasing new music! Sunday Songs is a brand-new collection of songs filled with both classic Sunday songs of yesteryear and never-before-heard Sunday songs in the super fun, Slugs & Bugs style that folks have grown to love and trust.
Now, I'll admit, this is my first time hearing of Slugs & Bugs, but I was excited to see what all the fuss was about... and I have to say, these new songs were really fun! I started off listening to songs that I remember listening to as a child like 'Father Abraham' and 'This Little Light of Mine' and I was really impressed with the sound... yes, these are classic kids' songs... but they made them really fun to listen to. My daughter is probably a little older than the intended audience, but she didn't mind listening to this one in the slightest. Some of the classics you can expect to find include:
· Father Abraham,
· This Little Light of Mine,
· The Wise Man Built His House Upon a Rock,
· I've Got the Joy, Joy, Joy, Joy,
· He's Got the Whole World In His Hands, and more!
And of course, I had to listen to some of their originals as well... and they were equally as fun and entertaining... as well as helping kids learn about Bible stories at the same time!
Whether you're looking for some fun kids' music that you can feel good about playing around the house OR some fun music for the Sunday school class, Slugs & Bugs is certainly worth checking out to see all the new music and surprises the have up their sleeves for new fans and old.
