Book Review

Love Takes a Tumble is part of the Midlife Meet Cute series. This is a multi-author series of romance novellas that each feature a couple that is age 40+. They can all be enjoyed as standalones or in any order. 

If you're looking for a later in life romance that has all the beachy vibes and you love a protective (retired firefighter) MMC, look no further. This one was a really cute addition to this series. Harrison and Audrey are both visiting Pelican Inn during a time of crossroads in their lives--- her writing a book after leaving her librarian job and caring for her mother for years and him after a minor heart issue forced him into an early retirement as a firefighter. The last thing either of them expected at this point in their life is romance, but when he comes to her rescue after a fall on the beach, that's exactly what they find. I couldn't help but enjoy the chemistry between these two... it was sweet and felt very natural. Miss Doris added the perfect dose of meddling and wisdom into this fun story too. This is a very quick read. At under 100 pages, it can easily be enjoyed in just a sitting or two, but it doesn't feel rushed or incomplete!
