Inspired by Charles Dickens, the film follows a father and son as they embark on an imaginative journey through the life of Jesus, delivering a fresh and heartfelt take on the greatest story ever told.

I was recently given the chance to check out this movie for myself. I must admit, when I first put it on, my daughter and I both weren't the biggest fan of the animation style, but it actually grew on us... especially the use of lighting throughout... it was absolutely gorgeous! But more than anything, we enjoyed how the story was told. First of all, it was a Biblically accurate telling of Jesus' life--- but told in such a way that is child appropriate (in that, we see Jesus die, but it's not overtly detailed) and makes sense. I love it being told from father to son... and this little boy's enthusiasm for stories really just made it all the more interesting. (There was even a very subtle Princess Bride reference that made me chuckle.) This is definitely one that is perfect for family movie night or even Sunday School.
