The Book
A haunting attack. A killer in the shadows. A protective love.
Murder--that's what photographer Allye Jessup knows she witnessed as she departed her studio one evening. Waking with bruises on her neck and a foggy memory, she believes she survived an attack, but everyone seems to think she simply sustained a head injury from falling down the stairs outside her studio. Plagued by an undiagnosed health condition, she is torn between the haunting reality of what she may have seen and the possibility that her mind is playing tricks on her.
Without proof the other victim ever existed, Detective Eric Thornton can hardly declare the area a murder scene. Still, he adds Allye's report to his already full caseload. But when new evidence surfaces to support her claims, Eric must stay one step ahead of a ruthless killer and uncover the truth before the suspect closes in on Allye again.
Pick up this thrilling ride of romantic suspense with themes of danger, psychological intrigue, friends to more, and a small-town investigation. Readers of Lynette Eason, Irene Hannon, and Dani Pettrey will love this twisty read.

Shadowed Witness is the second book in The Secrets of Kincaid series but could be enjoyed as a standalone without any issues as well. This is only Angela Carlisle's second novel, but one thing is already abundantly clear--- she absolutely knows how to craft a story that will keep you on the very edge of your seat! Right from the start, this one drew me in with the action and sense of danger... twists and turns throughout kept me guessing as to exactly what was going to happen and what was truly going on. The addition of Allye's health issues was absolutely brilliant. Just as she is questioning her own mind, it adds that level of uncertainty to us as readers as well, not knowing for certain if these things truly were happening or not, and I absolutely loved that. Were there some twists that I suspected earlier on? Yes... but that didn't stop me of enjoying every second until those answers came out nonetheless. While I definitely felt like the suspense took the center stage in this story, I loved the romance between Allye and Eric too. If you enjoy Christian romantic suspense, this is definitely one worth checking out.
