Book Excerpt
Then, unsolicited, Holy Spirit spoke up, asking these experiences to be passed along in a broader way. Obediently, over the next twenty years, they were chronicled in book form, which, with His agreement, I sensed, were to be dubbed “Kisses from Heaven: A Trilogy of God’s Stories.”
For my detractors, a history as a WWII child patriot, United States Naval aviator, Vietnam Marine Corps veteran, small-town medical doctor, larger-town clinic director, ordained pastor, long-term-short-term missionary, and restoration (inner healing) prayer minister for over thirty years will hold little sway. Instead, I will be evaluated from whatever doctrinal stance my readers embrace as either a true believer with the Lord glorified or pegged a liar, hyper-spiritual nutcase, or deceived by devils by today’s not-so-easily-recognized body of Christ.
While defending myself by self-administered mental health evaluations (normal, you might argue, is merely a setting on one’s dryer), impeccable references (less impressive, you might contend, if you exclude my mother and dog, both with Jesus), a fair share of Scripture documentation (one, you might refute, can find Scripture to support nearly anything), and a history of Christian service that might have made Mother Theresa proud (a frank pipedream, you might agree, but depending on what is in the pipe), this long-term literary work will be challenged by today’s “miracles-are-not-for-today” folks in the body of Christ
