Matched with Her Brother's Best Friend by Britney M. Mills: Book Review

*Book received for consideration. All thoughts are my own.

Life is a highway, and love is the destination.

Millie finds herself torn between her life in Boston and her family obligations when her brother's sudden engagement to her high school nemesis disrupts her carefully crafted routine. As she embarks on a road trip with Spencer, she grapples with conflicting emotions, realizing that her feelings for him may run deeper than the older brother she’s always thought of him as.

Spencer, a former child actor and successful business owner, is haunted by past wounds of betrayal. He sees Millie's invitation to drive to the wedding as a chance to protect her, as well as experiencing the journey for the first time. However, as they drive, he unravels the layers of his own emotions and finds himself drawn to Millie in a way he never expected. He faces the challenge of letting go of his past to embrace a potential future with Millie, questioning his own vulnerabilities and desires along the way.

Love, laughter, and unexpected detours: Join Millie and Spencer on a journey of self-discovery and second chances.

By day, Britney M. Mills is the wife to a builder and mom to five, but by night, she turns into an author, writing YA & contemporary romance stories.

A book lover, former college athlete, and Jane Austen fan, she crafts stories with the idea that anyone can find love. When she's not writing, she spends time playing games with her kids, or shuttling them to and from their activities, watching Sanditon and Murdock Mysteries, or dreaming of future characters while she folds a mountain of laundry.

Matched with Her Brother's Best Friend is the fifth book in the Romance by Love, Austen series. While this is a super fun series that I'd recommend anyway, this can definitely be enjoyed as a standalone as well.

This was a super cute read. As a people please who as trouble telling people no, I could definitely relate to Millie on that front... and as such, I loved how Spencer encourages her to stand up for herself and what she wants. He's definitely good for her! Likewise, she helps him to deal with some past hurts too. These two really are just the sweetest together and the story had a great message of healing and letting go of the past. Throw in a great road trip, a last-minute wedding and crazy family dynamics and what's not to love about this book? This was definitely a slow burn, but it fit these two so well and definitely was worth it to see them finally figure things out! It was a quick read, but I enjoyed every second of it.

Matched with Her Brother's Best Friend is a closed-door romance with kisses only.
